Last updated: draft, October 2026 · Operator: 213 Software [entity details TBD]
This draft explains, in plain language, what information Puffin expects to collect, why, and the choices you’ll have. It will be finalized before launch.
1. Who we are
Puffin is operated by 213 Software [entity details TBD]. Contact: support@puffinpayments.com.
2. This website today
This website is a static information site. It does not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party scripts, and it does not set cookies. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply and to follow up about the pilot or early access.
3. Information we expect to collect
Once Puffin is live, we expect to collect:
- Merchants: business and owner identity details needed for verification, payout bank account details, and transaction records.
- Shoppers: the information needed to route and record a payment, such as name, payment amount, merchant, and limited bank account identifiers.
- Everyone: basic technical data (such as IP address and device type) for security and fraud prevention.
4. What we never collect
Puffin will never ask for or store your online banking username or password. Payments are approved inside your own bank’s app.
5. How we use information
To process payments and payouts, verify identities as required by law, prevent fraud, provide support, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information.
6. How we share information
Only as needed to run the service — for example with banks and payment networks that move the funds, with service providers under contract, or when required by law. [Specific partners TBD.]
7. Retention
We keep records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and regulatory record-keeping requirements. [Periods TBD.]
8. Security
We plan to protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; the final policy will describe how we handle incidents.
9. Your choices and rights
You’ll be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. State-specific rights (for example, under California law) will be described in the final policy.
10. Changes
We’ll post updates on this page and, for material changes, notify account holders directly.
